Fall Bucket List

One of the things I enjoy doing with the kids at the start of each season is sit to down together and plan a list of things we want to do. This list isn’t to add stress or overwhelm to the season, but rather a compilation of everyone’s interests, some are things we’d do regardless, some are already planned and some are things we will do on a free day, when we have nothing else and can refer to this list. I’m especially looking forward to this season because we have Brynlee home, which doesn’t normally happen during Fall, so our list is a little longer than usual. I always enjoy reading others’ Fall traditions and have incorporated some of those into ours, so I thought it would be fun to share our ideas!

I’m planning to incorporate a few of these into our homeschool, such as fall crafting, going to the Zoo, reading our favorite Fall and Halloween books and starting a gratitude journal (I ordered this one for Brynlee to start as part of her morning routine). Some of the crafts I have planned are these cute beaded pipe cleaner corn, pine cone bird feeders, forest crowns and sun paper leaves.

Spending time in the kitchen together is a favorite of ours, so our bucket lists always has a major focus on food! It’s also a great opportunity to teach children about the seasonality of food.

After our super hot Phoenix summer, we are always looking forward to the cooler days Fall brings and spending more time outdoors! Now that Brynlee is home, we are renewing our Zoo membership and will take plenty of day trips, go on picnics and hikes and plan an adventure or two! I’d really like to take the kids to Bearizona and I recently came across Goldfield Ghost Town that I thought the kids might enjoy too!

We always make sure to visit a pumpkin patch or two, our favorites are Vertuccio Farms and Mortimer Farms.

I threw in a couple of bucket list items for the parents too, I’ve wanted to make a chunky knit blanket for a few years now, so I added it to the list in hopes it would encourage me to start it! Also, Family Pictures and of course, Football! We love relaxing on Sundays together, watching the game and eating snacks! Go Cardinals!

And all things Halloween! We love Halloween! Carving pumpkins and roasting their seeds, decorating and every year we dress up and throw a big block party potluck on our culdesac, watch Halloween movies outside and go Trick or Treating. It’s always so much fun and I’m so excited that Halloween is on a Saturday this year!

What Fall traditions do you have? Are you going to try any of these?
